Reverence  Part – 1

Many ask questions about the miracles written in the Bible.  Are they for the church today?  Why don’t we see more of these miracles and healings?

You have to always look to the Bible when you have these questions, to get bible answers.

Ask yourself what is God’s will regarding these questions.  You must study the scriptures to receive your answers.

One thing is for sure God has not changed, it is man’s ideas and opinions that have changed.

I was in fellowship after church one afternoon and a dear old woman asked me a question.  She said, how come we don’t see miracles like they had in the Bible?

I simply said out of my heart the answer “reverence”  we have lost some things and one is reverence for God, His word, and the holy spirit and others.

She look at me astounded.  She really did not understand “we” have a part to play.

There are things we see in scriptures that inspired the Spirit of God to move and things that grieved the Spirit of God.

Even when the Spirit of God begins to move to meet the needs of hungry hearts we can do things to welcome and reverence his presence.  We can also do things to disrupt the flow of the Holy Spirit. Praise and Worship are key elements to his respect and honor.  Pastors should teach and train their congregation little by little about the moving of the Holy Spirit so all can know how to flow and move with him. They need to learn what not to do as well as what to do. To be more specific we all need to be honoring him.

1 Samuel 2:30

I had the privilege to teach Prayer Principals courses in different bible schools. In teaching on corporate or united prayer it is the strongest anointing when the body of Christ is in unity or in one accord.  It is when the church is united in prayer that might things happen.  One minister once said,  Praise is the highest type of prayer.  A lack of reverence can short circuit so to speak the supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 4:23-31

Just sitting quiet and worshiping the Lord from your heart will bring us into unity and cause the congregation to take their foot off the brakes as the Holy Spirit begins to move.

I have seen it happen again and again, after the people are taught to practice reverence in their own lives and begin to worship and praise God at home, when they come to a service together they bring something.

1 Corinthians 14:26

26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Many people think a believer is supposed to go to church to get something, but according to Paul’s writings,  when the Corinthians came together they brought things of the Spirit.  Ephesians 4:16 says everyone has a supply of spiritual gifts to give.
