Willingly

Bringing your Tithe and Willingly Giving Offerings

The subject of tithing and the New Testament is of great debate with so many churches today and many Christians. God never forces anybody to do anything.

John 7:17 NKJV

We must always remember to go the Word of God and let the bible give us the answer.

Giving to God started in the beginning,

Genesis 4:4

Able brought God an offering, the very best.

Abraham by obeying God became very rich,

Genesis 13:2

Abram’s nephew Lot was captured by the enemy and he went to rescue him, in returning from victory.

Genesis 14:20

And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Moses had not instituted the Mosaic Law of bringing  a tithe of all Israel’s first fruits.  This was long before when Abram gave a tithe to Melchizedek’s priestly office.  Melchizedek is a type of Christ.

When you put God first out of a willing heart of Love for God, He will bless you more than you can even dream of.  God is YOUR source, your job and people are your re-source.

When God gave the commandment to Moses to construct the Tabernacle He gave them a choice.

Exodus 25:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Exo 25:2

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

And  again in,…

Exodus 35:5

Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,…

Notice the words “a willing heart”, if you were to ask some people today in church. Paying tithes is like a type of spiritual mafia that the church demands you pay.  This is not at all what Gods Word says, it is a willingness to love God and obey His words that bring the blessing.  It is of the spirit, the heart.

Exo 35:29

The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.

For the Christian living under the New Covenant established upon better promises, we honor God by Loving Him and you choose to bring your tithes and offerings to Him and His representatives gladly.

Heb 7:8

And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

Mr. R. G LeTourneau a great industrialist who loved God said,..”if you love God it will be evident in your giving”  he often quoted his favorite verse,…

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Reverend Billy Graham said “if you want to see if someone really loves God,  Look at his check book”.

God knows what is best for His body and a body well nourished and prosperous is a testimony to Him.
