The New Covenant Law of Love

The New Covenant Law of Love

Jesus said to His disciples at was is know as the last supper as recorded in the Gospel of John,..

John 13:34

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John 13:35

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Jesus is a Jew living under the Old Covenant at the time He spoke these words, but when you look to the old testament writer Jeremiah he’s said,..

Jeremiah 31:31-33

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:,..

Ezekiel said a similar Word from the Lord,…

Eze 36:26-27

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.,…

Jesus said He came to Fulfill the Old Covenant

Matthew 5:17

which He did.

The Apostle Paul said in

Romans 5:5

this new God Kind of love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.  When a person repents of his sins and accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit comes into that persons spirit and now the Love of God comes in for the Born again believer to love one another.

The writer of Hebrew in chapter 7 & 8 says that if the Old Covenant or the Old Ten Commandments could have fulfilled the Law there would be no need for a New Covenant.  That certainly main logical sense.  Under the Old Covenant Israel did not have the Holy Ghost in there hearts, they only temporarily had there sins covered.  This is why Jesus came and gave us a better Covenant,..verse 6 says it is better,..

Hebrews 8:7

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Heb 8:8

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Heb 8:9

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Heb 8:10

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:,…

see Heb 12:24

You see you cannot live in the Old Testament under its covenant and be a successful Christian, because that covenant was for spiritually dead men who hadn’t been born again.

If the law of love is written in your heart and you’re walking in the light of Gods love, you are not going to break any Ten Commandments. James calls this the royal law of Love.

It’s a wonderful thing to be freed from sin, not free to sin.  He has given us His love to love ourselfs with and to love others.  Natural human love is selfish, but the God kind of Love gives,  God Gave Jesus to the worst sinner in the world.  If we just let that love nature dominate or thinking and speaking and actions we are walking in the Love of God and others can recognize it also.

Our faith can only work for us if we walk or practice this God kind of Love.

Gal 5:6

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
